HERE I AM LORD
Over the last few weeks we have grown into a deeper appreciation of the many women and men who are working tirelessly in hospitals, nursing homes, supermarkets, prisons, and all our emergency and community services. They are answering a call to serve. Their service brings life, hope, healing and comfort. So many lives are being saved through their generous service.
As we celebrate Vocations Sunday we remember God's call to each and everyone of us. The Gospel reminds us that God calls us to fullness of life. What a great gift!! Our God doesn't want us to just survive but has a deep desire that we would THRIVE as individuals and as a community. As we reflect on the powerful image of the Good Shepherd we pray that we will grow deeper into the mystery of a God who knows each one of us by name and calls us by name to share in his love and in his life. We answer the call in many different ways. Every time we reach out in acts of loving kindness we keep the love of Jesus alive.
Today we give thanks for parents and grandparents and all who are living out the call to family life. We thank God for all who live the vocation of single life and for all following the call to Priesthood and Religious Life. As a community of faith we are united in our desire to respond generously to God's call to loving service. May God's Spirit enable us to recognise the unique way each one of us can be of service in our community. We remain in a solidarity of prayer and hope through these challenging times. May Mary the mother of Jesus who answered God's call with humility and generosity, accompany us on our journey.
I WILL GO LORD
IF YOU LEAD ME
I WILL HOLD YOUR PEOPLE IN MY HEART
