Catholic Schools Week 2020 26th January - 2nd February

The theme for Catholic Schools Week this year is Catholic Schools: Living in Harmony with God’s Creation

Thoughts For Each Day

Monday:

Today is the first day of Catholic Schools Week 2020. Today, we think of the beauty of the world that God created for us. Our world is a gift from God. We can see the beauty of God’s world all around us if we stop and look. When we take time to see the beauty of our world, we can learn how important it is and we can remember to thank God for the beauty of his creation. Lord, help us to live like you taught us to.

Together we pray the prayer that Jesus taught us: Our Father ...

Tuesday:

Today, we are asked to think about how we can live in harmony with our neighbours. Jesus calls us to care for each other and for the world around us. By treating each other with love, mercy and kindness, we are sharing God’s love in the world. Where there is anger and fear, God wants us to bring forgiveness and peace. In our words, in our thoughts and in our actions, we can live out Jesus’ message; to ‘love one another as I have loved you’. Lord, help us to live like you taught us to.

Together we pray the prayer that Jesus taught us: Our Father ...

Wednesday:

Today is Grandparents’ Day, and we are asked to think about how our grandparents have watched over us and cared for us. Our grandparents can play a special role in our lives. They can be very important teachers who show us how to love, how to be caring and how to share. They can teach us about the past and about the importance of our common home and how to cherish it. They can teach us about the beauty of God’s creation and help us to learn to care for it as we grow. Lord, help us to live like you taught us to. Together we pray the prayer that Jesus taught us: Our Father ...

Thursday:

God gave us the earth and the earth gives us many gifts which help us to live. It gives us water, food and energy. It gives us so much to help us care for ourselves, but we need to think about how we can care for the earth. We can try to use only what we need and try to live our lives in ways that help the earth. We can do this by recycling, wasting less water and caring for plants and animals. The care we give the earth shows God how much we love him and the beautiful home he has given us. Lord, help us to live like you taught us to.

Friday:

As Catholic Schools Week comes to a close, we are asked to think about how we can live in harmony together. We are all children of God, called to live like Jesus asked us. This year, we will continue to make this school a loving place where everyone feels, safe, welcome and cared for. Our school lives by the golden rule; to treat each other as we would like to be treated. Lord, help us to live like you taught us to.

Together we pray the prayer that Jesus taught us: Our Father ...
